The prosecutors who defended the protected Lago-Naki Plateau were dismissed “due to loss of trust.”

So that all Allies understand the “scale of interests” involved and the pressure being exerted on defenders of nature, I want you to learn something. This concerns the Lago-Naki Plateau, which for many years has been under threat of destruction for the sake of enormous money. We conducted an expedition there, met with activists, and filmed a short documentary. This struggle has been going on for a long time. And for a while, there seemed to be hope that the destruction of the plateau — which, in fact, is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List as one of the most unique natural sites on the planet — would be stopped.

The point is that the regional prosecutor’s office sided with the defenders of the Lago-Naki Plateau. I wrote about this earlier in my materials. The prosecutors uncovered facts of a criminal conspiracy; later, document fraud and even forged State Expert Review documents were discovered. Just imagine the scale of this. How can anyone trust any assessments by Glavgosexpertiza after this, if, in the interests of big business, they brazenly forge expert documents, helping to destroy protected areas?

The regional authorities themselves even tried to adopt an anti-federal law on the “transplantation” of rare plant species from protected lands in order to seize those lands. Unfortunately, later an attempt was made to push through such a project already at the federal level.

Prosecutors in the Republic of Adygea opposed this entire criminal conspiracy and tried with all their strength to stop the destruction of the protected plateau. They gathered evidence and went to court. The defenders of nature went to court as well. Of course, they hoped that it would be possible to defend Lago-Naki’s right to Life.

Now pay attention.

According to our people who continue to defend the Lago-Naki Plateau, on May 22, 2026, a SETTLEMENT agreement was concluded in the Arbitration Court between the Prosecutor General’s Office and those who had forged documents and expert reviews while trying to destroy protected lands, while three prosecutors who had previously fought against the “anti-federal law” and the falsification of project documentation were dismissed “due to loss of trust.”

File Court ruling on the settlement agreement 365 КБ

I quote further from the letter:

“On May 22, a settlement agreement was concluded in the Arbitration Court of Adygea between the Courchevelizers and the Prosecutor General’s Office, which provides for additional surveys — the same surveys in which numerous violations of the law and fakes were identified (forged seals, surveys, AI-generated writings, etc.) — to be conducted in parallel with preparatory and construction works. In other words, the Courchevelizers may begin violating the law again: now by cutting down 10,000 trees, blasting rocks, and at the same time ‘studying’ Red Data Book species; building hotels while crudely adjusting geological surveys in which a 50-meter karst collapse is called a ‘puddle,’ and drilling machines technically could not have drilled wells to the depths indicated in the project documentation.

It became known that, for the sake of this backroom deal, three prosecutors of Adygea were dismissed — the head of the department for supervising the implementation of federal legislation and his two deputies:

Dmitry Viktorovich Grigoryev — filed a lawsuit against the anti-federal law adopted by the deputies and the head of Adygea on the removal of Red Data Book species. The lawsuit was won in all judicial instances, and the anti-federal law was declared null and void.

Aslan Zaurovich Beretar — filed a lawsuit against the falsification of project documentation and the approval of fakes by Glavgosexpertiza. The results of the lawsuit formed the basis of a criminal case against a number of surveyors.

Andrey Sergeyevich Kashirin — head of the department.”

Now imagine, Allies, that after school you went to university. You studied for many years, received higher education in order to serve the law as a Prosecutor. Then, when the law was violated, you honestly and sincerely stood up to defend it, went to court, and investigated a crime. Especially when this crime was committed against the State and the country’s natural heritage.

And then you are dismissed due to loss of trust, while your superiors conclude a settlement agreement with those who forged Glavgosexpertiza documents and helped lobbying groups claim ownership over a UNESCO World Heritage site.

I will explain what happens next.

This effect will go far beyond Adygea, because a precedent has been created that will finally break not only those who fought for nature, but also internal state control itself. Within state bodies, such precedents spread very quickly, and now everyone has been shown: if you dare to oppose the interests of big business, you will at the very least lose your position, and your career will be broken.

Obviously, against this background, any problems will be “hushed up,” no one will take on investigations, and any initiative will become punishable.

Not to mention where the precedent of concluding a settlement agreement when crimes against nature have been identified will lead next.

Attention.

Allies, these are very difficult times. We are speaking here about only one case around one problem. But it is indicative of what is happening on a larger scale. We are facing the strongest pressure in all the years of our activity, our struggle for Life.

There is a risk that the projects may be shut down, and then the last front of the Russian Taiga will fall. All protected areas of the country are under attack — the last refuges of wild nature.

I published this material specifically for you so that, using the example of the Lago-Naki Plateau, you could understand the full seriousness of what is happening and the crisis we are facing.

Do not let evil prevail.

Global Mission

The destruction of nature has become planetary in scale: over the past 50 years, wildlife populations have declined by 73%, forests are being cut down, rivers are polluted, and ecosystems are degrading. The last remaining nature reserves are isolated and increasingly under pressure from states and corporations. To stop this crisis, the global protected-area system must be urgently changed. We propose a concrete plan — the Territories of Full Ecological Tranquility (TFET) — and are setting out on expeditions to develop their future boundaries.
