Travel Diary: Destroying Nature Means the Death of Our Civilization

Recently, I have visited many regions of the world, studying and researching environmental problems. I am increasingly forming an understanding of how our modern civilization is inevitably sliding towards complete self-destruction! And wherever I go, from the Great Russian Taiga to the distant shores of equatorial Guinea, I see the same thing everywhere. Deforestation, pollution, and the extermination of wild animals.

The intensity varies; where there are more people, there is more devastation of nature. At the same time, climate anomalies are occurring, water levels are declining worldwide, and people are facing new problems that lead to even greater destruction of the Earth's biosphere.

This does not stop. It gets to the point where people are willing to pollute the last wells or cut down the last trees for immediate gains, exchanging all this for the future of our children!

We are the last generation that can change something. Correct it. Stop the global destruction of wildlife! We are the last generation that has a chance to come to our senses and begin to unite the entire world against the threat of our modern civilization's extinction.

Here, on the distant shores of a land exotic to me, I met local environmentalists. They guided me to places where tropical forests are being destroyed!

Do you know what I see?

The same indifference in the eyes of the locals, the purely "skin-deep" interests of business and authorities, and complete denial of any problems. I see that people cannot think in terms of future events and assess upcoming catastrophes! They are frightened by scientific data and my words that for destroying the Earth's biosphere, we face retribution. And out of fear, people show aggression toward any attempt to realize what we are doing to our home. To our planet.

Here is deforestation.

The last ancient forests!

There are no others.

The road to the deforestation site is made from the same wood processing waste and tree trimmings that we use in our country to build long paths for heavy machinery. This machinery is driven into the depths of ancient forests with only one goal: to destroy the lungs of the Earth.

I touch the felled trees. I ask the environmentalists what species they were! And it pains me. It pains me to breathe the smell of the dead forest. To see how Earth's natural heritage is being destroyed.

I can confidently say that our planet is very small, and when you begin to explore it from end to end, you yourself begin to change. Completely. From your inner perception of the world, to external manifestations and attitudes towards everything that surrounds us.

You understand that people are the same everywhere! Cultures, traditions, all of this has long been reduced to unified templates. Since the times of colonization and the forced coercion of all indigenous peoples of the world to follow the path of the "great civilization," we have only been marching towards self-destruction.

And now today scientists are conducting global meta-studies and proving that in recent decades, only about 30% of living species remain alive on the planet besides us. We humans have destroyed the rest! Moreover, we continue to do so on an incredible scale, increasing pressure on the last surviving animals and justifying it as an "urgent necessity."

Or as the "trophy hunters" tell us, that by killing, we are actually saving nature. That it is "population control," and if we do not do so, nature will die out.

We are lying to ourselves! We are lying to those around us! We are lying to our children. So that everyone can continue to believe that jumping out of a high-rise building window is a divine act, not suicide. That it is not suicide at all but salvation.

But it is a lie. Just a lie!

And knowing that only 30% of living species remain in the world today, what do you think? What thoughts come to your mind right now?

Accept and forget?

Accept and say that we still cannot do anything?

Or accept, realize, and make every effort to stop this madness?

Modern civilization today is blindly walking towards an open window of a tall building. In just a bit, we will fly down, crash to death at high speed. And nothing will stop this process!

Protecting nature today is not just about saving "some animals," it is about saving OURSELVES! After all, the Earth's biosphere is our habitat. And if all living things in our home die out, then soon it will be our turn to die.

Today I am looking for answers. I have many questions! The first step is to learn about everything, about the problems, about the world around us. To explore the living world.

The second step is to try to find solutions to global environmental problems and find the key to people's hearts, to direct them towards Life. There can be no greater mission on Earth than to fight for Life.

I want to change this world. And I do not want my life to pass in vain. To pass in vain.

Let's accomplish the impossible.
