Scientists: Massive forest fires plunge the world into chaos — unprecedented rise of the catastrophe

State systems have simply gone mad — ignoring the real problems that must be solved right now, they are all eagerly dividing up the world’s protected areas. And I understand, they have their “digital transition” and “green energy,” suddenly they urgently need rare earth resources… I fully understand that in this brawl between countries it is impossible to stop. Everyone wants to control the world, the money flows, to lead in capitalism.

But wake up!

The world is falling into the abyss of a global ecological collapse. We are losing the animal world! We are losing still-stable ecosystems that can be preserved for the future of our children. Six out of nine planetary boundaries have already been breached — just a few more steps, and we will achieve not only the destruction of all life on Earth, but also of our modern civilization.

Alas. What we see now is only a struggle for power and money. And in all this political and social chaos, perhaps the MOST important thing of all is being lost: the necessity of protecting our own habitat, as well as the protection of ourselves and our children.

And so, a new scientific study has been released by international scientists entitled “In 2023 and 2024, an unprecedented number of forest fires occurred worldwide.” The work was published on July 21, 2025, so the data is objective and extremely relevant!

The problem is that NOBODY HEARS THE SCIENTISTS. Here is a scientific work demonstrating the extreme degree of ecological collapse in the world and the urgent need for consolidated global action to resolve this crisis! A huge and difficult effort, involving various organizations and universities.

And yet, what’s the use? The total number of views of the scientific paper is only 3,957 as of August 19, 2025. In the global context, that is practically ZERO. And yet such works should be printed and handed out to officials and all kinds of “managers,” with strict control to ensure they READ and STUDY them.

We, allies, can resist this. We can not only rely on this data ourselves, building the foundation of our struggle, but also pass it on — as an effective tool for protecting wildlife.

SCALE OF THE FIRES

In their scientific work, the researchers show the unprecedented rise in forest disturbance caused by fires in 2023 and 2024. According to the authors, the total area of forested land damaged by fires was 36.6 million hectares in 2023 and 38.3 million hectares in 2024 — record values since the beginning of satellite monitoring (2001).

At the same time, the share of fires in the total forest loss reached a record 42%, compared to earlier estimates of 26–29%. The average annual figure for forest damage caused by fires in those two years (2023/2024, respectively) was 2.2 times higher than the average over the past 18 years (2002/2020). And in tropical forests, it was three times higher.

Thus, the scale of forest fires — when entire ecosystems burn to ashes — has reached a qualitatively new level. The increase in fires is observed worldwide, but most of all in the tropics and high latitudes! North America, Latin America, and Africa.

And the top 10 countries with the highest relative growth in burned forest area during these years are led by Canada, Russia, Brazil, Bolivia, Mexico, and others (including Ecuador, DR Congo, Guatemala, Guyana, Peru, Greece).

This is how our boreal Russian Taiga burns to the ground. And instead of taking systemic solutions at the federal level, our officials are busy dividing up protected areas! They are literally passing law after law to reduce or abolish the protected status of nature reserves.

There are many possible causes. Yes, the global scientific community agrees that the main factor is humans. It is because of people that ignition sources appear! And then large-scale fires are triggered by climatic anomalies, by a combination of critical factors, literally, for example, when forests stand dry due to receding groundwater and lack of rainfall.

BUT!

Let us recall the concepts of biotic regulation of climate by old-growth forests from our Russian scientists, which the authorities persistently ignore. It is precisely the destruction of forests by humans — massive logging, the disruption of forest cover integrity — that breaks the “biotic pump,” drawing moisture from the oceans into the continents. And as a result, we face colossal problems!

Simple things, proven by science.

I have additionally studied other data to approach the issue of fires comprehensively, not limited to a single local study. The numbers generally confirm everything — similar data are presented in NOAA reports. For example, NASA Science describes not only the rise in global temperatures but also directly links it to fire statistics: fires are becoming more frequent and intense due to long hot seasons, and researchers have recorded a 60% increase in emissions from fires since 2001.

At this very moment, I clearly see that the global fire situation is critical and requires urgent systemic measures. Interestingly, in their scientific work the authors emphasize exactly what we keep talking about — the necessity of protecting the remaining intact forests and expanding protected areas.

Nations must consolidate! Instead of chasing short-term profit and plundering the last protected systems, it would be far better to unite and fundamentally change humanity’s attitude toward the living world around us. The most objectively correct step is the urgent recognition of our Concept of the Territories of Full Ecological Tranquility (TFET) and its implementation worldwide.
