Scientists have discovered thousands of chemical substances inside us from food packaging.

It is crucial to pay attention to the latest scientific data not only on the destruction of nature but also on how and why it is specifically dangerous to us. That’s why in our fight for wildlife, we strive to carefully study and monitor all relevant data.

I came across a scientific study published by scientists on September 17, 2024. The study is titled “Evidence of Widespread Human Exposure to Chemicals in Contact with Food Products.”

Experts have identified that over 3,500 chemicals used in the production of food packaging have been found in the human body! This refers specifically to food packaging, excluding everything else.

I reviewed the study and took down some data to prepare materials. Here’s what’s interesting: of the chemicals found in our bodies that accumulate there, 80 are extremely dangerous to human health. Yet, for many others, scientists know virtually nothing!

I would recommend that specialists automatically assign a “high danger” status to each unknown chemical substance entering our bodies until proven otherwise! And to conduct work specifically to provide an evidence base for the safety of these substances. Otherwise, we are nowhere near able to assess the level of contamination of our own bodies and always assume the path of least resistance.

It’s also important to note this: scientists previously created a list of more than 14,000 chemicals that come into contact with food in various ways. These substances were labeled FCC.

When experts began their new research, they expected to find several hundred FCC substances in human bodies. However, scientists were surprised when the total number of chemicals reached 3,601.

A THIRD OF ALL KNOWN FCC CHEMICALS ACCUMULATE IN OUR BODIES.

Scientists also discovered phthalates and PFAS (forever chemicals). And while I have previously written a separate piece on PFAS, I haven’t mentioned phthalates. It should be noted that they disrupt hormones and cause infertility, as confirmed by separate scientific studies.

I think it’s worth mentioning a bit about phthalates. These chemical compounds are added to plastic to increase its flexibility and durability, allowing various packaging to be produced.

Phthalates, in turn, enter the human body and cause:

  1. Disruption of the endocrine system, as they mimic hormones (e.g., estrogen) and interfere with normal hormonal regulation processes in the body. This can lead to reproductive system disorders, especially in children and adolescents, and increase the risk of infertility.

  2. Some studies have shown that phthalates can negatively impact both male and female reproductive systems. In men, this may manifest as lower testosterone levels, reduced sperm quality, and a risk of birth defects in children. In women, they are associated with hormonal imbalances that may hinder conception.

  3. Phthalates are particularly dangerous for children, as they often come into contact with toys and objects containing these substances. Given that children’s bodies are more sensitive to toxins, there is an increased risk of disrupted development and issues with hormonal balance and cognitive functions.

  4. Some types of phthalates are suspected of being carcinogenic, especially with prolonged exposure. They may increase the likelihood of developing certain types of cancer, particularly hormone-dependent cancers, such as breast cancer.

  5. Phthalates may exacerbate allergic reactions, particularly in people prone to allergies. They are also linked to an increased risk of asthma and other respiratory issues, as these substances are released into the air and can be inhaled.

There is also no data on the concentrations of these substances in the human body! Additional studies are needed. But it’s known that many of them interact with each other, meaning WE HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT THE REAL DANGER OF ACCUMULATING THESE SUBSTANCES IN OUR BODIES.

I also want to mention again that people are not only destroying the environment, but they are also depriving themselves of their natural habitat!

The studies emerging on the scale of ecosystem contamination with pesticides, micro- and nanoplastics, and various toxic substances are all about us! About people. And we need to understand that, for example, the concentration of certain substances may be small; the human body is quite adaptive and protects itself from external influences, including toxins.

But what if there are more and more toxins? One, two, and then a hundred, two hundred, a thousand substances! And these toxins react with each other, change, and accumulate in all our organs, in our blood, and are transmitted to newborn children through the placenta, even while “in the mother’s womb.”

A new study now confirms that there are over 3,500 chemicals within our bodies, around 100 of which have been proven to kill us. Meanwhile, the danger of many substances has yet to be evaluated, and this is completely unknown to anyone!

And this study only concerns substances entering our bodies through food packaging.

What about pesticides that fertilize agricultural fields? What about PFAS substances in our water that fall on our unfortunate heads along with rain? What about growth hormones, genetic modification, and antibiotics in the food we consume?

I believe the scientific community needs to work on all new studies only by assessing all interconnected chains! Otherwise, we can’t even assess the real picture. The scale of the danger is completely unknown, although there is ample evidence that people are genuinely dying from this! Cancer is rising, severe chronic diseases, early mortality rates.

  • We need meta-research and meta-analyses with a full assessment of all interconnected chains of chemical substances entering and interacting within the human body! This requires neural network-based technologies capable of quickly gathering, combining, and analyzing massive amounts of data.

  • Each new chemical substance detected in the human body should automatically be classified as “highly dangerous” until proven otherwise.

Speak up, comrades! Talk about it! Share on social networks, spread the word, tell your friends and family. It is important for us to unite, voice the truth (even if it is uncomfortable or sometimes extremely dangerous), and help awaken people!

Change is possible. The point of no return has not yet been crossed! There is still time to stop the global conflict between Humans and the Earth’s Biosphere.

Global Mission

The destruction of nature has become planetary in scale: over the past 50 years, wildlife populations have declined by 73%, forests are being cut down, rivers are polluted, and ecosystems are degrading. The last remaining nature reserves are isolated and increasingly under pressure from states and corporations. To stop this crisis, the global protected-area system must be urgently changed. We propose a concrete plan — the Territories of Full Ecological Tranquility (TFET) — and are setting out on expeditions to develop their future boundaries.
