“Clean energy” will kill thousands of animal species and enrich businesses.

The world is witnessing a fierce battle between states for energy resources. This market has been profitable for a long time, but now, with the gradual depletion of resources in some countries and their stable availability in others, the balance of power is beginning to shift in favor of the latter.

The situation is actually quite simple.

Imagine that country “A” had oil and gas reserves for 150 years, while country “B” had only 50 years’ worth. After 40 years, country “B” starts to realize that in another 10 years, it will be entirely dependent on country “A,” having to buy resources from them to meet its own energy needs. As a result, certain countries will start to dominate the market and dictate their terms!

Therefore, a rapid transition to something new is required. Everyone wants to control the energy sector, ensuring profits today, tomorrow, and even 100 years from now.

Thus, the world begins to aggressively promote “clean energy”: electric cars, solar panels, wind turbines, and other wonders of the new era.

However, it’s not so easy to force people to switch to a new form of energy!

Companies, especially multinational giants that are difficult to pressure by force, need profits today. They are quite satisfied with the fact that old energy sources are still cheap and can be confidently used for at least another 10 years! Moreover, according to their calculations, even if domestic resources run out in 10 years and they have to buy oil and gas from other countries, it would still be cheaper than converting all production to “green energy.”

The same goes for the average consumer.

Therefore, governments are doing everything possible to force people to switch to “clean energy.” They are using a “carrot and stick” approach: on the one hand, they are lowering taxes for businesses and partially compensating the costs of technological transition, and on the other, they are actively promoting the idea of “environmental friendliness.”

“Green energy” is called “green” because, according to governments, it is a move towards sustainable consumption and reducing harm to wildlife.

But is this really the case? Let’s take a closer look today. I think this will help me answer the many questions from my readers.

In reality, it’s all about monopolization: new markets are being artificially created and immediately monopolized. This is economics, and there is nothing “green” about it! The impact on ecosystems will be just as severe, if not worse, than from the old methods of resource extraction and use.

To prepare this material, I studied numerous scientific studies and came to the following conclusion:

A) The transition to “clean energy” can indeed be environmentally friendly, but only if safe production technologies for nature are invented. Currently, such technologies do not exist, and the ones that do are even more dangerous than raw material energy. The point is that it is during the production of “green energy” technologies that the decisive blow to ecosystems is delivered!

But that’s not all. Safe resource extraction methods are also needed, but such methods do not yet exist.

B) I compared resource extraction methods worldwide for the production of “clean energy.” The main complaint of multinational corporations (MNCs) is that resources are limited. In response, governments have begun to lower the protective status of protected areas, legalizing the extraction of rare earth resources for production there! Essentially, they are giving up nature reserves to corporations, sacrificing them for the transition to “green energy.”

Our country, for example, is doing the same. Oil and gas reserves will last for a long time, but the domestic market is too small! The biggest money has always come from exports. And if all countries switch to new “green markets,” our state will be left with oil and gas, not knowing what to do with it!

Therefore, seeing the world transitioning to “clean energy,” our leaders are starting to think actively about how to occupy this niche and attract the largest corporations in the world. And there is indeed something to offer: we have vast territories with the potential to extract rare natural resources for the production of “clean energy.”

In recent years, environmentalists have been actively trying to stop the “development” of protected lands. For example, residents of the Voronezh region have been opposing nickel mining in the protected Khoper area for many years. Or the defenders of Lake Baikal, who are trying to prevent the adoption of a bill allowing the clear-cutting of ancient taiga forests. Similar attacks on protected lands are happening across the country.

Why? What is all this for?

The fact is that rare earth resources necessary for the transition to “green energy” remain in industrial quantities only on protected territories. Gradual lowering of the protective status of such lands under any pretext will allow these lands to be handed over to large international and domestic corporations for resource extraction.

Now let’s turn to scientific research. Such work is already actively being conducted globally, and we can rely on the studies of world scientists!

I carefully studied a new study by specialists from the University of Cambridge titled “Global Threats of the Extractive Industry to Vertebrate Biodiversity.” The research was published on August 19, 2024, and it’s a very fresh and relevant study!

The study covers the threat to wildlife from the extraction of natural resources. The experts consider both oil and gas extraction and the transition to “clean energy.” According to their data, the demand for metals and minerals necessary for the transition to clean energy threatens the extinction of 4,642 vertebrate species.

4,642 VERTEBRATE SPECIES ARE AT RISK OF EXTINCTION DUE TO THE TRANSITION TO “CLEAN ENERGY.”

This does not mean that oil and gas drilling is not harmful to nature! It means that the transition to “green energy,” which requires enormous amounts of rare earth resources, will lead to even more extinctions.

The scientists based their research on data from the International Union for Conservation of Nature, overlaying maps of animal species habitats on areas where rare earth resources necessary for “clean energy” are still available. Typically, these areas are still protected, meaning they are nature reserves!

The scientists also note that global demand for resources is growing! In 2022 alone, the industry’s revenue was estimated at $943 billion, nearly a trillion U.S. dollars. Experts point out that the industry is currently expanding its capacities, literally racing to monopolize the “clean energy” sector.

By 2040 (in 15 years), the demand for metals and minerals is expected to triple! Companies leading in the extraction of rare earth resources for “clean energy” will be able to significantly increase their profits and share much more money among themselves.

The scientific study also notes that the assessment was made only for vertebrate animals, without considering the harm to other species and the plant world! Moreover, there was no assessment of the overall degradation of biological systems as a result of humanity’s transition to “clean energy.”

To prepare this material, I also studied another scientific study titled “Does the Energy Transition Affect Food Prices and Agricultural Production?” This work was also recently published on May 29, 2024.

As I mentioned earlier, the industry will be able to earn multiple times more profits due to the tripling of demand for rare earth resources. But they will be able to make even more money due to rising food prices. This is exactly what the scientific study addresses, where scientists directly state that “an expressive increase in food prices is expected.”

The study was conducted by specialists from the University of Auckland.

I would like to quote the co-author of the study, Professor Emilson Silva, director of the University of Auckland’s Energy Institute:

“Our results show that the energy transition is not a neutral process and that it has significant consequences. It directly impacts people’s lives.”

So what did the scientists do?

They collected and analyzed data from 32 countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation for the period from 2000 to 2021. The results show that countries advanced in “green energy” face a colossal increase in food prices.

Another quote from Professor Emilson Silva:

“As demand for renewable energy sources increases, so does the pressure on vulnerable populations who bear the brunt of rising food prices.”

Here are the data.

Now let’s summarize:

1. “Green energy” requires the “development” of protected areas, the protective status of which is already being reduced worldwide.

2. The extraction of rare earth resources for “clean energy” puts 4,642 species of vertebrate animals at risk of extinction, not including the extinction of other species and the overall degradation of ecosystems.

3. Food prices will rise, and ordinary citizens will have to pay for all of this.

The most important thing is that the corporate giants, who have been destroying nature in pursuit of profit worldwide for the past decades, will be the ones extracting resources for the world’s transition to “new energy.” And they, like governments, are already expecting enormous profits in the coming years!

These are the interests of “big economics,” with potential profits calculated not only for now but also for the coming decades!

On one hand, enormous money will come from the growing demand for “green energy,” and on the other hand, even more money will come from rising food prices. If, on top of this, people are taxed for “carbon emissions,” the profits will be astronomical!

The only ones losing in this strategy are people and Mother Nature.

As always, the winners are governments and multinational corporations.
