Support Public Opinion Against the Killing of Red-listed Animals

Comrades! We have conducted significant public work against the draft law on clear-cutting protective forests in mountain refuges. This helped to maintain public resonance and prevent the issue from being 'swept under the rug'. Moreover, the authors of the draft law attempted to gain support in the form of votes from people on the initiative's page. In a few days, we gathered significantly more votes and are successfully leading in public opinion AGAINST the cutting of protective category forests.

The draft law is currently under consideration and attempts are being made to adopt it, but the only thing holding them back is public resonance.

However, there is another draft law that demands our attention. The Ministry of Natural Resources is attempting to adopt a law legalizing the killing of animals listed in Russia's Red Book. They have tried to pass this draft law years earlier, but there was a strong societal response then. Today the situation has changed, the public is suppressed, and they are trying to legalize the killing of rare animals by exploiting this.

It is worth noting that for many years, high-ranking hunters in power have literally requested the Ministry of Natural Resources and introduced corresponding bills to legalize 'trophy' hunting of endangered animal species. The new draft law is now 'veiled' in such a way that it is supposedly not for hunting… but merely killing 'for the sake of saving animals'.

In reality, it looks like this: a hungry tiger comes to people, the authorities gather a group of hunters and authorize them to 'take' the tiger according to the new draft law. The reason will be 'to prevent a conflict situation with people' or 'to eliminate a threat'. The group of hunters will include officials themselves or wealthy individuals who will pay 'under the table' for the opportunity to shoot the tiger and take its skin home.

This means that these are precisely TROPHY killings, which are cloaked in beautiful phrases by officials. And the killings will be conducted not within the framework of 'sport hunting', but as a great mission to save the animals themselves!

WE NEED RESONANCE

We successfully maintain public resonance with the draft law on clear-cutting protective forests. Now we need to quickly allocate forces and resources for a new wave against the draft law on the killing of red-listed animals!

Help us achieve change! And don't let them take advantage of society being distracted by political and social collapses.

1. Familiarize yourself with the draft law to understand exactly what they want to pass! You can also register on the legislative initiatives website and DISLIKE the draft law. This is a visible part of public demand!

2. We have prepared a text for mass distribution. It is very important now for thousands of people to copy it and spread it on social media. This will support resonance, attract new people and openly declare our position: no killings of red-listed animals.

   
   

I am against the adoption of draft law No. 148661, which legalizes the killing of animals listed in the Red Book. I am aware that high-ranking officials have tried for many years to pass laws that reduce the protection status of wild animals and openly asked the Ministry of Natural Resources to allow them trophy hunting of endangered species.

And now the Ministry of Natural Resources is attempting to legalize such killings! Draft law No. 148661 must not be adopted. If it is adopted, it will lead to rare animals caught in trouble being killed on the spot instead of being helped and rehabilitated. The draft law will also open opportunities for high-ranking hunters in power to simply obtain trophies of rare animals under the guise of good intentions.
