We are making changes to wildlife protection projects: information for allies.

Over the last few years, many real opportunities to protect nature and influence global problems have been shut down. The most critical issue is the lack of interaction between society and the government, when the bureaucratic system itself starts to close off, surrounding itself with nothing but formal replies.

And if before we could at least reach federal agencies, especially through massive public requests, now it has become practically impossible.

The real power society still has is highlighting problems in the public sphere, actively working with the press, and establishing contacts with the right people inside the agencies themselves! By the way, it’s precisely thanks to those who support the need to solve environmental problems within the authorities that we’ve managed to achieve some changes.

Agencies are closing themselves off with formal reply systems, and society has to create new mechanisms to be able to convey problems to the government! After all, it’s ordinary people on the ground who can identify problems, determine the “pain points,” and then pass them “upwards.”

And it’s very unpleasant when, instead of consolidation and cooperation, the government agencies themselves begin to shut us out! Thus, problems remain unsolved, and trust in officials is lost. This is wrong: we all must act in the interests of our beloved country.

THE STRUGGLE IS HARD.

In 2024, we tried many directions, developed a digital platform, and tested various mechanisms for preventing and solving environmental problems. In the summer, together with Russia’s conservation community, we managed to halt a number of major bills! We also tackled local issues, fighting against illegal logging and waste dumping in the wild.

But by 2025, many opportunities were closed off. Since we address sensitive bills and hinder certain circles in power from making huge profits by destroying nature, they naturally look for ways to evade public requests and block our activities.

It’s an eternal, irreconcilable battle of good versus evil!

One of the areas that stopped working turned out to be large-scale requests specifically to government agencies. For example, attempts to write to the Ministry of Natural Resources about the need to solve problems! The simple scheme: we ask the Ministry of Natural Resources to develop a mechanism to protect wolves in the wild, as a key species in the biogeocenoses of the Russian Taiga. The Ministry delegates our request to the head of the country’s hunting department, who is himself an avid hunter and, in his own interests, justifies the extermination of wolves by any means possible.

Such are the paradoxes.

Therefore, starting from 2025, we stopped focusing on large-scale requests specifically to government bodies. But there still remains the possibility of sending requests to key figures in the government, instead of trying to establish a dialogue with agencies! Apart from “online receptions” on government websites, there is the option of reaching specific administrators in power through social networks, their personal accounts, and email addresses.

Now March has already arrived! And we are refining the new functionality of our public initiatives. I see not only the need for adaptive actions to protect nature, but also a radical shift from trying to solve local issues to comprehensive solutions to environmental problems. Protect not just individual species, but entire biological systems! Literally striving to create sanctuaries for wildlife.

And right now, we are moving precisely in that direction. A Concept for territories of complete ecological tranquility has been developed, infrastructure for a future international project is being built, and the strategy for further action is being shaped and studied.

It really is a long process! A difficult one. Especially since it’s hard to do without funding, while trying to fight not only for nature “here and now,” but also to expand globally for future efforts.

CHANGES

I want to share with all our allies the changes we are implementing right now. Already in March 2025, we have several important areas we will be working on as part of efforts to protect wildlife!

FIRST.

This is, of course, our public initiatives. In the summer of 2024, we managed to stop dangerous bills precisely thanks to the format of public initiatives that were originally implemented on an independent platform! Unfortunately, we were unable to secure funding for the platform, so the project went into long-term planning, and we moved the initiatives to my official website. And we continued to tackle problems in practice!

For six months, we changed different mechanisms, supplemented and tested them in the real fight for nature. And only now, by March 2025, have we developed a normal and understandable approach! The initiatives have been refined.

What will change?

— Now the initiatives will take the form of public direct appeals to government bodies! Such appeals are impossible to ignore when they are constantly supported by a wide audience. Unlike personal requests through agency receptions or a “quiet document” on paper, the format of a public demand is truly effective! That’s why our initiatives will be based precisely on public requests regarding specific environmental issues.

— All participants in the initiatives will be able to instantly copy the request to the authorities, posting it on social networks and increasing the resonance, as well as download the same “quiet document” if necessary. This will be especially convenient for the officials themselves!

— We are adding a signature format for initiatives (similar to petitions), but under anonymous conditions. This shows real public support for the initiative, its relevance, and also protects our participants from possible pressure for raising issues! It’s long been no secret that the usual petitions not only fail to work but also “leak” public engagement. In our case, anyone can sign the initiative and take other clear actions, letting everyone else know: “I’m participating too! And there are already plenty of us here.”

— We are also simplifying the process of sending requests to government bodies. Instead of trying to contact agencies, we will use a mechanism of influence through key figures in power, making use not only of official government websites (receptions) but also the social networks of specific administrators, email addresses, and so on. Moreover, the work will be flexible, with constant adaptation! If any contacts are closed off from the public, we will find others.

So that people find it easier and more convenient to take part, we will now exclude the need to write texts by themselves or copy any contact links for sending letters. Instead, each person will be able to quickly copy our public appeal to the authorities and then send it to the recipients with just a few clicks!

It’s fast, convenient, and practical.

SECOND.

Additionally, we are now developing a completely new section as part of promoting the Concept of territories of complete ecological tranquility. These will be TPES initiatives!

At the moment, a separate page has been created and launched with a proposed solution to global environmental issues and preventing the sixth mass extinction of species on the planet! And we perfectly understand that a “raw proposal” on its own, without specific local projects, will not be carried through in the world.

So what to do?

Our solution is to continue research in this area and independently prepare boundaries and projects for future TPES zones.

We’re beginning the development of an interactive world map, onto which we’ll mark future borders of territories of complete ecological tranquility. Each TPES will be linked to a separate public initiative with an official document, thorough justifications, and proposals.

After that, we will promote each initiative, contacting countries worldwide and offering them solutions to environmental problems by creating wildlife sanctuaries! From small countries to large ones, we will try to develop such projects, come up with economic justifications (suggesting ways to offset costs for providing absolute protection of nature), and actively push a completely new approach to protecting global ecosystems.

This project will also be accompanied by personal research and observations in specific wild areas, ongoing media engagement, and reaching major international media outlets.

We are acting carefully with this project, as it requires not only experience but also an entirely new working mechanism to achieve real changes in practice! Just one precedent in the world for creating territories of complete ecological tranquility is enough to trigger a chain reaction leading to their adoption in other parts of the planet.

Besides the interactive map and TPES initiatives, we are also preparing a major media project—an arduous, multi-year expedition around the world! Details are not yet disclosed.

A WORTHY STRUGGLE!

We can’t do everything in time, and much doesn’t work out. But continuing to fight for Life is necessary. Even if clumsy, step by step we become more substantial, gaining vast personal experience and passing it on to people.

It’s a good, very worthy struggle! And the right meaning in every person’s life: to devote oneself to something greater than mere existence.
