Urgent: Officials plan to allow road construction through the protected Losiny Ostrov National Park in Moscow.

Allies! A new threat looms over the protected Losiny Ostrov Park in Moscow, and our allies are urgently asking for help. It seems this madness has no end: everyone has suddenly rushed to tear apart the protected heritage of our Motherland.

The Ministry of Natural Resources has launched a legislative initiative to permit the construction of a huge road right through the reserve. This will deliver a crushing blow to the local ecosystems!

WE HAVE VERY LITTLE TIME: PUBLIC DISCUSSION IS OPEN UNTIL 25 JUNE. WE NEED YOUR HELP.

Earlier I already published a separate detailed article about how officials brazenly lower the park's protection status. The struggle has gone on for a long time, but it seems that the laws do not work at all: officials simply do whatever they like!

Losiny Ostrov National Park is the largest forest massif within Moscow and the Moscow Region, with an area of 12 882 ha. It is home to dozens of the rarest species. The new route that officials want to push through will cut the reserve in half, disrupting all animal migration routes and destroying the natural connection between sections.

And after that you can assess for yourselves the consequences for nature when an endless stream of cars begins to flow along the route! This is what the officials are trying to do!

Draft law NPA-ID: 157501 allows the construction of roads and roadside service facilities, that is, gas stations, cafés and so on. At the same time, it effectively legalises the “Vodoprovodnaya Alley — Kaliningradskaya” route that they have long been trying to push through the centre of the national park. According to approved data, a major overhaul of 5.75 km of road is planned, 3.3 km of which will pass DIRECTLY THROUGH THE FOREST, where naturally there is no asphalt now.

As a result, 1 860 trees will be cut down for a full-blown highway that will BREAK THE RESERVE INTO PIECES.

Moreover, the project directly contradicts Federal Law No. 33-FZ, Government Decree No. 769 and even court practice, which prohibit road construction in national parks if it is not related to nature conservation or the park’s needs.

But, as I wrote above, it feels as if THE LAWS DO NOT WORK AT ALL. In broad daylight, the country’s protected area system is simply being appropriated by anyone: big business and influential officials alike.

So.

Our help is needed. At the adoption stage of the project there is still a chance to stop it; we have already managed to block several similar initiatives. But time is very short, only until 25 June — in just a few days we must show the unity of society!

What needs to be done?

  1. Open the link to the draft law and study it carefully so you understand exactly what we are opposing

    Study the draft law

  2. Register on the portal of state initiatives (you can use Gosuslugi or e-mail), then click DISLIKE in the upper corner — this is the visible part of public discontent.

  3. Separately click on “Stage information” and at the bottom the “Complain” button — in your own words write a complaint, express your opinion, demand that this insane draft law be withdrawn from consideration.

A special request to all allies who have time: we recently discovered that officials have started using blatant manipulation of the site’s technical data. Earlier we recorded anomalous spikes of supposedly “for” votes on draft laws — for example, in just a day officials “spun” almost five thousand votes in the draft law on the logging of mountain forests. The Investigative Committee of Russia is now working on this issue.

Therefore, if you suddenly notice anomalies — immediately take screenshots, record video, document everything. And send it to us; we will act in the public field, stopping any attempts to manipulate the portal.

ACT! AND MAXIMUM SUPPORT! WITHOUT YOU WE WILL NOT COPE!

The TFET Concept

The world is undergoing the sixth mass extinction of species — in just the last 50 years, humans have wiped out approximately 73% of all animals on the planet. Insects are on the brink of extinction, as are half of all plant species and one in every three tree species. The world must urgently establish Territories of Full Ecological Tranquility (TFET). Sign the international petition, download and study our document, and help us achieve absolute protection for wildlife.
