Demand to Remove the Forester from Office for the Brutal Killing of a Bear Cub!

Comrades! We are doing everything we can to monitor the situation surrounding the killing of a bear cub in the Penza region. We have also submitted an official statement to the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, investigations are underway, and we are awaiting the results of the inspection not only of the forester who killed the bear cub but also of his superiors, who are deliberately covering up the crime.

Let me remind you that on October 12, in the Penza region, a small bear cub (under a year old) approached people. In the published video, it was not aggressive and did not even touch the local chickens. It was curious, exploring the surrounding scents. Its behavior was not strange, and it was clear the bear cub was hungry, but not emaciated! These details are also confirmed by leading Russian media and local residents.

A forester then arrived at the scene. According to media reports, he came in a Land Cruiser with his personal weapon. Without much hesitation, the representative of the environmental agency shot the bear cub, as locals say, — he fired at least five shots into the small body.

It is known that this forester is Alexander K., aged 46. He is an inspector for the protection of wild animals! The government representative did not try to help the bear cub; he arrived at the scene solely to kill it. Additionally, after the killing, a local police officer came for the body, and according to the media, received the child without a head. People say that either the forester himself or his friends cut off the head.

After the bear cub was killed, a bear mother was spotted about 10 km away, according to media sources, looking for her child.

We managed to raise the scandal to a federal level and initiate an investigation of the case. However, the forester's immediate superiors are covering for him; they also stated that the bear cub's head was not cut off and that the animal was aggressive. Later, they also said that the bear cub was exhausted and its condition did not allow it to survive in the wild!

In the published video, it is noticeable that this is not the case, and the bear cub was in perfect condition. Hence, we see only attempts by the forester's superiors to cover for their employee! Possibly because they gave the order to eliminate the child.

In a normal situation, the bear cub should have been assisted by the authorities. The forester should have prevented any conflicts, called specialists, and if the bear cub's mother could not be found, ensured its delivery to a rehabilitation center. We have such centers in the country, and there would have been no problems preserving the child's life.

Shortly thereafter, a similar situation with a bear cub occurred in Kamchatka. No one decided to kill it; instead, assistance was provided, and specialists are already taking the bear cub to a rehabilitation center.

Only if in Kamchatka bears are not on the Red List, in the Penza region there are only about 10 bears for the entire region, and they are included in the Red List.

REMOVE FROM DUTY!

Comrades! We need your help. We will try not to let the issue slide. We are awaiting an investigation by the Prosecutor General’s Office.

In the meantime, let us ensure that the forester no longer holds the position of wildlife protection inspector. His “protection” means killing and nothing more. Also, according to local residents, he is an avid hunter!

We are sending mass requests to the Federal Forestry Agency of the Russian Federation demanding an inspection into the actions of forester Alexander K. for exceeding his official powers and to deprive him of his position.

We don't need such “foresters”!

We will also send an official demand to the Ministry of Natural Resources and to key Rosleskhoz leaders. If the situation is left unaddressed and those who committed the murder are not duly punished, this precedent will show everyone that such actions are permissible! They will continue to kill animals and blatantly lie to society, covering up crimes.
